Garey Williams - The Official Site

Garey's Equipment

I am a proud owner/endorser of the following: DW Drums and hardware, Sabian cymbals, Remo drumheads, LP Percussion Products and Vic Firth sticks & mallets. I also use Protechtor cases and HQ Percussion Reel Feel Practice Pads.

Garey's EIN kit

Drum Workshop Collector's Series Maple X Shell Toms, Floor Toms and Bass Drums with Vernicle Low Timbre Maple Shell Snare Drums with Reinforcing Rings.

Finish: Australian Birdseye Eucalyptus Exotic wood finish with a Candy Black Fade and Chrome Hardware.

EIN Fusion Kit:
1. 8" x 7" Tom
2. 10" x 8" Tom
3. 13" x 11" Floor Tom
4. 15" x 13" Floor Tom
5. 16" x 14" Bass Drum
6. 20" x 18" Bass Drum
7. 13" x 51/2" Snare Drum
8. 10" x 51/2" Snare Drum as a left Snare Drum/Timbale.

I use the right DW 9000 Double Pedal on the 20" Bass Drum. I also use a left DW 5000 Turbo double pedal on the 16" Bass Drum. I use an assortment of DW hardware including a 5000 Single Pedal for the left foot cow bell (located to the left of my left bass drum) and a 9000 remote cable hi-hat. This Cable Hi Hat pedal is placed to the right of my main 20" bass drum pedal. I can play double 20" bass drums, double 16" bass drums, right on 20" with my left on 16", right on 16" with my left on 20" and right or left foot hi hats. My right and/or left foot can straddle two pedals at once creating a variety of sound combinations with my feet. This has expanded my drumming a lot! I use the 20" bass drum for backbeat grooves and behind many of the guitar solos. I use the 16" bass drum for Jazz, Hip-Hop and ECM tunes and behind bass solos.
Do to the nature of our original instrumental music, I have many acoustic drum and cymbal sounds, as well as, striking implements to compliment the many electronic effects created and used by both the Guitarist, Mike Mattingly and 6 String Bassist, Rick White.

Thanks to Scott Cameron for all your help with my DW drums!!

Remo Drum Heads

I use Remo Coated Ambassador Heads: on the top of my Snare Drums, Tom Toms and Floor Toms, and on my 20" Bass Drum. I use Clear Ambassador heads on the bottoms of my Snares, Toms and Floor Toms. I use a Coated Ambassador Powerstroke 3 Batter Head on my 16" Bass Drum and Ebony Ambassador Heads on the front/logo side of each bass drum with small ventilation holes in the heads.

Thank you Bruce Jacoby for all your assistance with my drumheads!
